Self-Care Workshop for Anxiety - Journal + Meditation Edition

Focused on individuals who struggle with anxiety/anxiousness. Wear comfortable clothes, bring a journal, a pen, some water, and take a comfortable seat. You will learn techniques to support self-care for anxiety through breathing, meditation, and journaling. (mat/props optional.)

About the Event

This event is designed to support individuals who are seeking resources/skills for managing daily feelings of anxoiusness. Key components will include breathing, progressive muscle relaxation "PMR", and journaling. Heavy emphasis on PMR. 

  • In progressive muscle relaxation, you tense a group of muscles as you breathe in, and you relax them as you breathe out. You work on your muscle groups in a certain order.
  • When your body is physically relaxed, you cannot feel anxious. 
  • Practicing progressive muscle relaxation for a few weeks may help you get better at this skill, and in time you will be able to use this method to relieve stress.
